Legislative Update Part 1 – Section 8 Changes

A bill being worked on in the Oregon legislature known as HB 2639A would remove the choice landlords have when it comes to renting to section 8 tenants. As of now landlords have a choice. If you would like to learn more about this bill I have listed a link below.

Legislative Update Part 2 – June 2013 – SB 91A

Recently the Oregon legislature passed a bill known as SB 91A. This bill will be effective 1/1/2014. This bill has allowed landlords to require renters insurance, expand non-compliance fees and has made changes to screening guidelines involving background checks.
